I was looking at a 93 toyota this weekend and i was looking at the front suspension (ifs). I didn't see any torsion bars or sway bar. How is the front end getting lift? snowman im sure you know.  

Stupid question, where did you look for the torsions?

I only ask because Toyota's torsions are up high mounting to the upper arm and are 'hidden' by the body unlike on say Rangers and fullsize Ford and Chevy trucks where they hang down and connect to the lower arm.

If that is where you looked then I am as stumped as you are!  

hmmm.i wonder,uh oh... yea ahm thinking again. What if you got a thingawooger to twist on the suspension to tighten down on a spring,think t.bar except in a compact package.the bar isnt twisting, a coil spring is being compressed against some kinda plate.maybe? or just really confused?

huh is what i was thinking. i didn't look way up cuz im used to seeing them down low like on my dads dodge. ima go look up under the body. thanks  

think i'll have to draw it out, think the formula ones use a system or used a system like that to save room and space.the a arm would go in its usual motion,but ,a coil spring attached to it would be compressed as the arm twisted,providing the resistance to compression,kinda follow?

you've seen the z link system? my understanding of a torion bar system is that the bar is like a coil spring stretched out.and the twist is what provides the resistance to compression,so my dillywooger uses a coil spring that is compressed insted of a torsion bar by the same twisting forces. Ime curious,there doesnt seem to be very much travel in the t bar suspencion,i figure that instead of a bar keyed into an a arm.that a thinger would(i know pretty tecknical)come out of the arm and compress a spring some how while under compression. figure the spring would solid mount on one end so compression force would act directly on small high tech metal spring...thinger..maybe
