well muscleman, i know you can try canuckmotorsports.com i found a lift kit there for pretty short money and they back it with a fair warranty from wat i read.
i did scrap the idea for liftin the blazer, chariot, but i was passing the info onto muscleman. it could be more valuable to him then to me at this point. i still want to get the 3in kit and go for 31s on my truck.

chariotofmanliness: actually, the jeeps that the military replaced were ifs/irs models. the reason for the change was do to the need for more room for carrying all the new equipment. and if you wanna get down to the fine nuts and bolts, the military humm v's are far supeior to their civilian cousins, that tend to break at the mere thought of offroading
I remember reading about it when they were testing them and using some in field. They had serious stability issues with narrow track and short radius arms on IFS and were scraped. Today, Chrysler has forgotten completely about what a Jeep is supposed to be and turned it in a family car using Jeep name to sell it. This is not what a Jeep was ever meant to be. It was simply, sturdy and small and now even Wrangler has gotten fat, heavy and closer to ground. Best real Jeep made in somewhat modern times was old CJ5 before they lengthened front end to get a inline six in it. I know some like that six but it would have been better served with a V6 and a 4 and kept it short, light, maneuverable and simple. If you wanted more room, better creature comforts and a better ride, get something besides a Jeep rather than cob up the Jeep like they have today.

i have owned four s10 no 4x4s though, have a couple of friends that own dimes w/ 4wd, the prob w/ the s10 is when you lift them it puts a ton of strain on the ball joints, in fact i am the manager of a truck accessories store and we wont even lift the s10 because of the probs. however in its stock form it is more capable than most people think. the s10 spawned from the old luv trucks which i have owned 7 im my time 2 4x4s, and they are very similar in make up. the luv no joke never got stuck, comming from oregon all we did was play in the mud and do some trailin but the luv was everywhere. turn up the torsions a little small body lift and some 30" bfg's, awesome little truck! The s10 is the same way small body lift so you dont change the geometry to much, a slightly bigger tire and they do real well. But, living in nevada now ive seen built jeeps do things ive never thought possiable. so it just depends on how extream you get. However, I'd just like to add i have already pulled 2 lifted jeeps out of the mud with the burb! Lol i love this thing!!
Where's the time to work on MY stuff?

i dont really know i think the jeeps are more offroad friendly and dont get me wrong i would love to own a jeep but they are kinda expensive (danm them and their good resale value haha).but i cant so i got a 77 chevy 1/2 ton. now i know that it isnt a s-10 but its a chevy and i grew up on chevy and it was cheap.now if you got an s-10 and felt like shoveling out some money i would put a strait axle under the front and get a kit to install a 350 in it. but with the right gearing, lift and tires your could go almost anywere a jeep could except tight trees unless you have an exo cage or dont care about appearnce.

My first 4x4 was a 67 Chevy 1/2 ton P/U with a 283. It was about 3 years old when I got it. (that ages me) Three on the tree with closed knuckle front axle two and it even had factory dual shocks in rear. Wish I had that truck today restored and stock.

if you have a 2dr s10 blazer you have a great turning radius. i own an '88 s10 blazer and my buddy had an 01 wrangler and the turning radius was almost the same. so if you modified that you would be in good shape. i just dont know about the newer s10 blazers if the had the same turning radius for the 2dr models.
