S10 vs. JEEP

Well, I have a 2003 GMC Sonoma ZR-2 (same as S10 ZR2) and can honestly say its a great off road vehicle. But, it does have a weak front end and could use a little more clearance. A stock TJ Rubicon is indeed stronger and more capable in my opinion off road. Period. On road and to the ladies the s10 is better, more luxurious, and more useful. One advantage to any truck off road is the room in the bed for supplies/coolers...but then again I may just buy a JK unlimited when I can afford it.

I own S10 ZR2, i like jeeps. I have never owned a jeep but my wife wants one, I'm not sure that i would give up my chevy for a jeep. My fuel milage is between 16-18 and this truck goes anywhere i want it to, So at this point I dont see any advantage in the jeep.

well... i've owned both, a 98 ZR2 and a 94 jeep yj, the ZR2 was much easier to work on and had more kick but the 4WD on it sucks, the jeep on the other hand was a pain in my ass to work on and the motor sucked but the 4WD was awesome, but i sold it, now if you could combine the 2 it'd be great, but i had 1 out here in podunk cali and the other in Texas, so i killed the jeep so i could get a 78 K5 Blazer.

the problem with the ZR2s 4WD is the fact that its not a solid front axle, and i dont know about yours but mine always decided to crap out when i needed it most, and i think its one of those that was made during the GM strikes, so it doesnt have true 4WD, it has limited slip all the way around wich sucks

For beach riding and some occasional mud, it should be ok.I think. As for now its a daily driver that gets alot of highway and dirtroads. I plan on eventually doing a solid axle front on this truck and a 5.3 vortec. but as we all know, time and money coming together is VERY FAR AND FEW BETWEEN. There is a ZR2 in readers rides with a 5.3, solid axle, lots of lift. Its cool, check it out. I dont necesarily want mine quite that wild, but what the hell???

the 4 banger sounds like it was issue. if you get another jeep, the inline 6 is the way to go! the 4.3 thats in my wife truck is a really good motor to. good HP for stock, lots of get up and go! i had an 88 s10 blazer with the same motor and i got almost 200K out of it, and if it wernt for funds, id still have it. have you guys checked out 3leaffab.com yet? some cool pics and videos of and s10 blazer all done up.

I love mine too, ive always been a GM man. The 5.3 comes first on my list of mods but it is faroff future too. I cant say that my truck has any glitches, none that i know of anyway. Good old reliable Gm's - U can't beat em. Still wouldn't trade it for a jeep.

my wifes s10 has some mods in its future too. when that retires, SAS with 4 to 6 inches of lift, some 33 to 35in tires, and at least dana 44 axles, locked. i want it to be streetable as well as capable. i would keep the motor and tranny. i dont think it would be as capable as my jeep with 3in of lift and 33s and locker. but you never know......

All jeep owners are afraid of the early bronco. They wish they had v-8's 9"incher's with limited slips and high pinion 44's and it was easy to clear 32's factory. Stock to stock bronco beats jeep unless it's a rubicon with 30 years of tech. on the bronc. Oh and yes ford made the jeep for the millitary if thats an arguement in fact some willys have ford tail gates.
.........................I respect all brands and breeds of rigs just prefer ford.
