plus s10s are amazing, i know i have done a few extreme mods to mine but i pulled a 1985 1500 with 6 inch lift 40 inch tires through 5 to six mud holes that were about 2 1/2 feet of mud. so thats my s10 pullin all that weight, lets see a jeep do that

Does all that matter when a jeep will be the one to pull your s-10 out of the mud.

I think ya better put your s-10 on the scales before you go spouting off about what a jeep can't pull compared to a s-10.... I have both, the s-10 stinks unless it's on a road trip.

a rubi won't be the one loosing axles like the s-10 will.

who dug up this thread again anyhow?

who cares about mods, go stock v stock, you can make a ford probe awsome offroad if you dump enough $$$ into it.  jeep will kill s10 when faced off stock. Fact, not an oppinion..

stock vs stock... jeep has more torque with the 4.0 and has stronger suspension because of the solid axles... and since there's no longer an s-10... it's the canyon or colorado now you can compare that to the new jeeps so the rubicon package will blow away anything that the GM's can manage... now after you modify them then it's all out the window... because then you're comparing lego's  and it's a collection of pieces not an original vehicle... and even if you upgraded to other factory options from the same make of vehicle... you have a max of an 8.1 liter, ls6 or duramax on GM's side or the hemi, viper motor, or cummins since jeep's been chrysler for a while now... so they're pretty evenly matched, once modified...

i like both the rigs i own now. on one side my wife drives the 01 s10 pickup crew cab and its more capable than i though. and i drive a 99 jeep cherokee 5sp and thats more capable than i thought. i havnt wheeled them side by side but either or can do ne thing i would need them for in stock form. i am lookin into modifying the jeep tho. ne one got some 31s they want to sell?

i have comments on both. i have 2 chevys granted their now s10s but now i have added a mostly stock 1997 jeep wrangler except tires and cold air intake to my collection. i have nothing bad to say about jeeps at all i wanted one for a long time and finally got a good deal on one ($3,500). and the only time i have got it stuck in deep snow up here in montana. and my friend just got a highly modified s10 well kinda its a 87 blazer frame with a 84 s10 body its bobbed and has full width dana 44 and full float 14 bolt and he was talking about how his blazer/s10 would tear my little jeep apart. and needless to say i ended up pulling his truck home lol i mean s10s aer nice for like low riders or mini trucks whatever you want to call them drop a 350 in em and those things will run like a raped ape but i will allways love my jeep over almost any other vehicle.

solid axles
both have no prob running v8s with little to no mods
both have short wheel bases
both seat 4 with removable tops
