I found a 700r4 and 241 t-case for sale for 400 bucks, is this a good deal, i have been wanting to swap out my th350 for a 700, but im not sure on the t-case, currently i run a 350 with headers, flowmasters, and 670 truck avenger, so pretty mild engine with np 203. Is this a worthwhile upgrade, it should be a direct bolt in replacement and only mods would be drive shaft shortening, or am i wrong?  

yeah not bad at all! there is a red tag near the output on the t-case that will tell you what it is.
it'll bolt right in, you need a rear slip yolk shaft. SYE's are available for the 241's also.
