I have a 1984 FSJ Grand Wagoneer with a 360 and a 727. I want to adapt a 78' F250 NP205 to it. The 205 is on a T18. Ive done a lot of research and the 205 should have a 31 spl. input and 32 spl output shafts. The 727 Im not completely sure about. I have the entire F250 for the parts incl. a Hi-pinion 44 in front and a Dana 60 in the rear. If I need to divorce it I will or have it gone thru or shafts changed. If I need to sell it and get one better equiped for my jeep I can do that to. I have been modifieng vehicles for over 20 years but i have never owned a Jeep. I have already done a SOC, built custom bumpers and am running 33's. This is a hunting rig and not for TTC but my son and I enjoy it the same. Can somebody help?

Not sure why you want to do this. 205 weighs about 60 lbs more, has a much taller  low range and does not support shift on fly if you want to do that. The 208 in that jeep is fairly sturdy and will last a long time with properly geared axles for tire sizes and usage. A 727 is tuff as nails too. ALso Jeeps were built as 4x4's from day one not added on like other trucks and the driveline is tucked in the nice and clean and this mod would cob that up. Also Jeep D44 in front of that era have thicker axle tubes than Ford, Dodge and GM D44's. (it is a Jeep thing) so in some ways you are regressing. Yes a high pinion would be nice but I would simply use current axle with some CV's in front drive shaft and if you lift a lot, I would cut and reindex and re-weld pig on it at a higher angle and still use it. If you do not go too big the stock 44 front and rear should hold up fairly well.

BTW, if you really want a different Tcase, use a Dana 20. It has about same ratios as a 205 but it is a much better fit and was used in fullsized jeep trucks and such through 79.
