I have a lifted 03 GMC Serria 6.0l with 36in. tires and would like to know what size gears to put in for the best gas milage and driveabilty

4.88's or 5.13's will do the trick....If it were mine it would be seeing a set of 5.38's..@65 w/36" turns about 2300rpm..... 1500 or 2500? the tranny OD ratios are different.

Quite honestly if you were really concerned about MPG, you would not lift it and run the extra drag from lift and 36's. Gears will not make the loss go away but it can bring most of performance back. I think I would go with at least a 4.88 or maybe a 5.13. It depends on how to drive and plan to use it.

I would try 4.88's then I think.Anything less and OD performance will suffer greatly.
