I am thinking about buying a Toy motorhome and installing a t-case and front axle into it. Has anyone done this? Will a axle swap kit intended for an IFS truck work on a 2WD truck?

I did a ford econo van with a sbc 700r4 ans a 208 t-case, used the chevy 10 bolt up front and welded spring perches for the coils. it turned out to be a nice ride

the ifs stuff may work if your working with a chevy chassis that would have had ifs...

I am not really sure what benefit will be gained with this mod. As it sits the chassis is pretty heavy in rear and light up front  with small light motor and with traction grip tires it would do a fine job plus with its high CG and loading from camper, I would not want to be trying to climb hills or be twisting in in 4x4 drive. If you really want a 4x4 motor home like this I would start with a bigger chassis.

I've got a uni body Phazer sitting in my yard that needs a tranny, I has thought about putting on a stock k20 frame with a 6.5td. It is a low roofed coach and has a 5800# gvw as it sits....kinda like the mini van thing one of the other members is messing with. after toying with his idea some, it may actualy work without much trouble.
