Putting the 350 back together in my 94 Burb after having the block bored I have come across a question. The Chevy service manual calls for an oil galley plug under the rear main cap into the block. The only hole there is the one that feeds the oil to the filter and cooler setup, at the bottom of the hole there appears to be a steel check ball type ball. Do I put the plug in the hole? If I do how the heck will the oil get through the system? Do I drive it down against the steel ball?

I talked to the machinst and he said that plug is very hard to get out and back in properly so he does not remove it unless he bead blasts the block. So all is well and it is going back together nicely
