ok so i'm putting a set of full size axles from a ford f350 under my yj. high pinion dana 44 in front and a dana 60 out back. i've been trying to get someone to make me a set of rims to fit the set of tiers i just baught a lil bit before i fell into a great deal on these axles. i was running 15" rims before and so i was in need of a set of 15 x 10 rims on the 170mm ford 8 lug pattern. as i was doing some research looking on the internet and calling around people were acting like i was a complete idiot. they wouldn't even make me a set. because thats not what would of come on it factory. they said the smallest rim size they wold make me was a 16". but go figure they would make me a set at 15" x 10" 8 lug on the chevy 165mm. whats wrong with this picture? so what if they say it wont fit. i'm the one paying the money for them to make it. if i buy it then its up to me to make it fit. if you use the single poiston caliper a 3.5" backspace you only have to grind a little bit to make it fit. why is it if its not supposed to work by the book they wont make it for ya?

Liability?
Honestly, with the way the world is today, I'm surprised that anybody builds custom stuff anymore.
Not wanting to make wheels with a 8x170 pattern but willing to make them 8x165 is just retarded.
What would custom wheels cost anyway? I still suggest just selling the tire/wheel package you have now and going with something new. If you got a great deal on the tires/wheels you have now you should be able to unload them and make a small profit, then find a deal on new gear, the deals are out there, just have to find them!

for a set of five black steel rims i found em for 400 bucks. not bad for custom. i didnt get any kind of deal on the tires ive got now. im just tryn 2 get the thing back on the road. its been in the driveway for about 5 months waiting for the motor to be fixed. before the motor went i had baught the tires and put about maybe 15 miles on em. they still have all the titts on em. i had bad rings. i got another motor free from a buddy and put that in. and then i got the set of axles for 150 and im throwing them in. i'm just wanting to get out wheeling. i dont want to try and wait to sell these tires. then wait for another set. plus these ones are brand new and i dont think i could get the full price out of em when someone could just go buy ones that are right from the store for the same price. maybe down the road i will set it right and get new calipers and a diff set of tires. but for now this is my cheapist and fastest way to go.
