watching trucks get to the top only to not have enough power to get that last little ***
has anybody thought about fuel pressure issues when the electric fuel pump gets uncovered??? does anybody make a dual wall tank that has a second pump in it and like a quart of fuel... the intank pump fills this... extra goes back to the main tank so there is very low fuel pressure in this container.. but since it is always full getting vertical does not uncover the internal pump strainer so full pressure is supplied to the fuel injectors... the pump inside this tank is also not mounted with the strainer at the bottom but closer to the middle so it can get fuel even at 90 degree angles..(i am thinking of fuel slosh angles uncovering the strainer)
and whats going on with the engine oil pressure going up .. and down... does anybody run a remote oil pressure accumulator so the run up the hill fills it and it maintains the pressure when the oil pump pickup goes dry... at high angles of attack or upsidedown... i know there were some that had a solenoid on them to supply yesterdays oil pressure to todays cold start...might be a good idea to somehow wire the solenoid on this to a switch on the pressure side oil pump before the filter.. i thnk on sbcs there is port for this on the top of the back of the block...
this way when the oil pressure drops.. the accumulator is automaticly discharged to maintain oil flow....
as for carbs getting vertical... how to stop fuel from pouring out the booster venturis and the vent...
you cannot block the vent.. as that really screws up most carbs fuel metering.. and any restriction in the booster channels may totally affect the speed verses fuel pullover ... i have to think about this more...
trucks are out of my line of thoughts although i do enjoy them.. this was just a late night thought..
i hope this gets somebody up and over the top...
