I have a 1990 full size Bronco and strolling down the high way my dog hit the 4x4 button and the trans case or trans. started to make grinding and a banging sound soon after no foward or reverse. I have disengaged the 4 wheel manually and still no go.

any suggestions on where to look for the prob. the trans. case trans. or the peice between the 2

any help would be greatly appreiciated

Is your bronco auto or manual?  if its automatic you might want to start at the torqe converter (between the back of the engine and the transmission bell housing),  also drain and check your trans fluid, if it has small chunks of metal or metal shavings in it--bad sign.  take it to someone who knows how to fix.  sorry i cant be more help.
