Please help!!! If anyone has swapped in a gm 14 bolt 10.5 full floater axle under a 1/2 ton chevy please tell me if you u used a comb u joint and if you did from where, or did you use a custum driveshafts, any input is apreciatted, i need my blazer done by next friday and i am having problems finding a combo u joint that will work, i went to napa and bought one whcich they said was for my application, one ton chevy axle yoke to 1/2 ton chevy driveshaft, but the joint dosn't fit in between the little tabs in the yoke of the 14 bolt axle where the u joint is supposed to sit in, i am thinking about cutting of the 1/2 ton yoke on the end of my driveshaft and going to junkyard to find a 1 ton drivshaft, cut off that yoke and weld it back on to my 1/2 ton driveshaft so i can use a standard 1 ton u joint instead of combo u joint. Please help!!! i really need the truck by next friday, going to Glamis Sand Dunes

WHat i ended up doing was shaving off some of the metal from one of the tabs in the axle yoke to get my u joint to fit, what puzzles me is why wouldn't the u joint fit with out modification to the axle if the axle is a bone stock chevy 14 bolt? Any ways im happy now that i know my truck will move again

it wouldnt fit because his truck was a half ton and the drive sharfts use smaller u-joints then say a 3/4 or 1 ton drive shaft.
