Hello,
I am new to the site and I have already gained a lot of useful info. I have done some reading and gotten some questions answered. I posted a thread earlier about lowering my 79 Scottsdale that has a 6" lift done with springs. It has a block in the front that I plan to remove before I drive it( I bought it this way). My question is will removing a 1 1/2"-2" block cause me to have to change my steering linkage? Maybe not the right terms but I think you know what I mean. Can this be done without interfering with the steering?
If you need more details on the specifics I can provide them. I even have pics of the block under the front leaf spring.

OK,
I will try and get a pic of that by Saturday. I am working on smaller tires at the moment. BTW, I found a stock set of wheels for my truck. Come with 31" tires too.
Thanks for your response. How do you attach pics on here anyway? Kevin

yeah, if they had blocks up front they probably left the stock pitman arm on it. the pic will tell. I can help with the pics, either send me the url, post it or e-mail me the pics, I'll edit them into your post.

Thanks a lot,
I will get pics of the pitman arm and the leafs with the block and email them to you. Is it hard to fix if I need to take something out? I guess its hard to see without a pic.
Thanks for the responses,
Kev

This is true but given the size of the block in the picture, I do not see any issues with removing it and worrying about drag link angle. I would worry about length of U-bolt studs after it is removed though and would cut them off a bit above bolts to prevent possible impact with frame when axle bottoms out in suspension.
