what could we create if you took the strengths of the toughest axles and put a unit together? 9" has the ring gear the 60 has the axles the moggie has the portal gears,what else? be neat to see a brand new thingy on the market.maybe..  

there is a kit out there for what's called (i think) a humm-9 axle... it's a ford 9" with weld on portal axle box's on it... someone else might know more about it... i just remember something briefly about it on a tv show last year  

i think thats pretty close to what i was imagining. what i sorta saw was a 60 or 14 bolt like carrier that comes high pinion and pulles out like a nine, with a large smooth axle housing like he nine w/o all the angularity and bulk of a 60/ 14 bolt kind of housing. just running my imagination.
