i WAS ELUCIDATING THE OTHER DAY ABOUT A NEW STYLE OF ENGINE,WELL NOT EXACTLY BUT FOLLOW. ELIMINATE THE CAM PUSHRODS ROCKERS ECT. NOW PUT A ROTARY DISC IN PLACE OF A VALVE MOTATED BY A HD HIGH SPEED SOLENOID, THE OPENING AND CLOSING SPEED AND DURATION IS CONTROLLED BY THE SOLENOID. THE DISK WOULD SIT IN THE HEAD, JUS LIKE A HOT ROD ENGINE U COULD CONTROLL THE INPUT TO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER MAKING MORE POWER. IT WOULD BE POWER HUNGRY BUT WITH A HYBRID ENGINE YOU HAVE A LARGE GENERATOR TO POWER WHATEVER LARGE A DRAW IT NEEDS, YA THINK ITLE WORK?, I THINK A ROTAX IS SOMTHING LIKE THIS, ?IF IT IS OOPS, IF NOT WOULD IT FLY, ELIMINATING FRICTIONAL LOSSES AND A MORE COMPACT ENGINE?,...MAYBE..

The problem is while it may look good in theory, the more complex the clock works the easier it is to muck it up. One reason that the IC engine has lasted so many years is that internally they are pretty simply in concept and very reliable. Electronic external control have proven to be buggy at time and with internal ones you are opening it up for more things to go wrong.

Ya the curiosity bug chomped on me on this idea, figured with only two moving part per cylinder using magnetics to seal and open ,no oil at top end of engine,w/120 volts on tap from gm type genset,requisit2 way solenoid would have powr to spare to seal against cyl pressures/vacume, but then again the proven tech is good. got to stretch my imagination every now and then! gday!
