I got another Noob question. I have a 1979 Scottsdale. I don't know how to load pics but you can see a pic of it on Car domain under Kevmann. It currently has 37"s on it. I want to put 33"s on it and lower it about an inch. My question is will it look bad with the 33's? Does anyone out there have one with 5-6 " lift and 33x12.5x15's? If so I would like to see how it would look. Any help on this would be appreciated.

this truck has been in many different configurations over the years, I was 16 when I bought it (nearly 20 years ago) and still drive it, It has also had a 10" and 39.5 boggers, when the family came the lift went away, it was the only running vehicle we had at one point. here it is a 4" with 33's the 6" and 35's looks the same.

Hey thanks for all the help with the pics. As you can see mine needs some work. But it has great potential. So it looks like either way it will look pretty good. Those 37's are Goodyear MT/Rs with few miles on them. I have been trying to sell them so I can get a smaller set.

btw why do you wanna lower it? if it's an issue about ease of entry just add nerf bars. thats alot cheaper then buying another lift for it.

I want to lower it because I really want to use it more as a daily driver. (plus my wife hates it) I have a camper and all. I know I could just get a lower drop hitch but my kids have a hard time getting in. Plus these are more aggressive than I want I am looking for some 33 or 35's all terraine. Got any? I figure I can get a decent set forabout 600. SO that what I would like to get for them. If I have to I may just do the nerf bars but I am sure there is someone out there who would like to give up their 35's or 33's for 37's. I also think the truck will perform better as a daily driver.

the springs he has should ride very soft because of only two leafs, the ones you have chopper are a lot stronger.

Yeah it actually rides pretty smooth especially for the lift. Its really set up more for the "look" than for heavy duty 4 wheeling (gears and all). I am not really into the look any more. I want more of a practical toy that I can have around in case I need a truck. I found a guy who will trade me some BFG All terrains less than a year old and some cash for mine. I think dropping it the 2 inches with the 33's will do just what I am looking for. Then if I need to adjust steering I can. It has a steering stabilizer on it. And the boot is torn. WHere can a guy get those? Hey, its a good thing I am not paying for this advice by the hour or else I would be broke.

the boots and stabilizers can be purchased from the local auto parts, it really doesn't need a boot though.
Like snoman said on the other, the steering linkage will be fine.
