And the winner is the H3 Alpha, currently on newsstands. Pick up the mag, read the article and tell us what you think. We love reader feedback.

Thanks,

The H2 was a close second. Check out the story and let us know your thoughts.

well i like full size rigs so i'm probably biased. i'd like to point out that i think the H2 was at a slight disadvantage due to it being in a field of mid-sized opposition. thats my feeling anyway. i'm not knockin any of the rigs but the H2 stands out like a sore thumb next to it's opposition and i think it speaks volumes that the H2 came in second in a line-up of mids. i know you guys worked with what you were given and i really feel you did an outstanding and honest job, but i hope next time we can have a few more manufacturers step up and offer you some more like vehicles to test.

Disadvantage or not, it acquited itself quite well. The way FWOTY works is that any 4x4 that is significantly new or revised is eligible and therefore invited to participate. We have 5 areas of scoring, and in 4 of those 5, the vehicles are only compared to vehicles in their class. Only in emperical are they compared to everything else in the test. This makes the test more fair in terms of vehicles in different price ranges, as well as size.

i was unaware of that. thanx for the clarification. in that case what was the H2 compared to? that would be something that maybe you guys could add in like a side bar next time. i'd be very interested to know what vehicles are in it's class and how high the H2 scored above them. i'm not asking for a whole write up just like a list of last years, or the last three other competitors in it's class, and their scores from those years would be great in my eyes! thanx and merry x-mas!
