i want to put this engine and tranny into my jeep for power and mpg. i rolled my 96 f-250 has great motor and 5 speed tranny. question is will the yj frame hold the weight? can i reinforce it enough too? what axle combo should i run?

wouldn't that be REAL heavy tho? i'm sure you can get it in there if you want. might have to fab a lil but if you want it bad enough it can be done. are you gonna run it on the street or just wheel it? if you just wheel it then go with full width 1 ton rears to take the abuse. good luck!

it will be really heavy i'm just working with what i've got. in the end i plan on using it for a daily driver. my yj was in great shape before my brother blew it up. i want to strech the wheelbase and widen the tub.

what do you think i should look at for wheelbase? i still want manuverability on the trail, but at the same time i want a better ride on the road

for that much weight the leafs or a f-250 type strut would work with a three or four link

I saw a fabtec strut/coil over my brother was installing on a newer f-250 a while back at work.

would a dana 70 in the rear and a 60 up front be a good choiceor should i go smaller? i want to run 36x15.50s. i also plan on major upgrades to the powerstroke. hoping fo 400hp and 600lbft
