OOPS, dang new fangled laptop, ok,once more, who and where does GM get their demographics statistical info from? obvious its not from regular folks away from a large city where its easyer to get a quota of bodies to manipulate the info with.

GM is pushing automatics because they are easier to sell to former car drivers just like push button or twist knob "push/twist-n-pray" 4x4 drive is made for them too. It is getting hard to find a truck with manual shift Tcase anymore. Personally I think if you are not "bright" or "talented" enough to use a manually shifted 4x4 then you really should not be using one anyway.

After reading all this I just called my brother, who has been selling new GMC's for years and asked was it true?...yup, no more manuals offered, in fact he says my '06 silverado is considered to be "wierd" because it has a manual transfer case on the floor. This will be my last new GM truck.....WAKE UP GENERAL!

My buddy recently bought his 16 yr old son a freakin killer '78 Chevy, sittin high on 38's. The boy was thrilled until he opened the door and saw the 4spd...He can't drive it and refuses to learn how...I told my friend he should have bought him a dress!! what a wuss!

i wont buy a new truck either for the reasons mentioned too...also the fact that on either pup you look at the engine is stuffed under the windshield and all the plastic crap they put on instead of metal like th old 70s-80s chevy, ford, dodges.
and even now the new redesigned crap from all truck makers build them toooo dam tall that the average dude cant put anything in the bed w/out using a step stool.stupid!
and fatguy...id tell your buddy to tell his kid that thats all hes gonna get are sticks so he better learn!
IT WASNT ME, IT WAS THE ONE ARMED MAN!

I wish my Chevy was a stick...I wish it was 13spd Eaton-Fuller roadranger!   It used to cost extra for an automatic transmixer in a truck, now that's all they sell? Another sign of the Apocalypse!!!

This is why i bought my truck when i saw it; a 93 f-150 straight 6, 5spd, manual t-case and VENT windows. sure i could of bought something newer with less miles (197k on it) but i knew i wouldnt see another truck like this come across my path for awhile.

My truck before this one was a 94 ranger 2x4, 4cyl, 5spd. sure it got stuck alot not being a 4x4 and having the back end so light but, my brother and i ripped about 20 oak tree stumps out of the earth with it. Sure we dug them out and cut most of the roots we could or felt like cutting, somthing had to get it out of the hole. 780lbs stump was the record and thats after we cut a big portian of the trunck off.

You cannot beat automatic for pulling power at stand still or low speeds short of maybe a granny tranny which a ranger does not have. Been plowing snow for over 20 years and automatics rule there and that is tuffer on trannies than "wheeling" too.
