When I back up, occasionally the transfer case will pop put of gear with a vengence. What do I need to look for? Shift fork bent, syncro sleve warn? Thanks

Might check shifter linkage first as it sound like it is not fully engaged (when this is the case it tends to pop out on reverse torque input)

Thanks Snoman for the thought. We'll try there first. Certainly easier than taking the transfer case out.
