Hi there, I heard that mods may be needed on the exhaust and driveshaft if installing this kit, True?

A few things here, one with a lift you sometimes need a longer drive shaft not shorter because when you lower differentials you extend the reach of the shaft. Also with a 6 inch lift it is advisable to install a CV in front drive shaft because of drive angle. Also be advised that lifts the use spacer block in rear can produce spring wrapup and traction/wheel hop issue and blocks more than a 2 inches or so should be avoided.

Im just going by what procomp online directions say for that lift kit.
for this GMC it utilizes coils in the rear and a multi link rear setup.  no blocks

"NOTE: 2004 models with traction control and Borg Warner transfer case
4482 require pro comp driveshaft 51246 to be shortened by 1”. Driveshaft
modifications should only be performed by a certified driveline shop."

It sounds like to me they supply a driveshaft for the 2004 model and it needs to be shortened for it to work properly.

The auto trac Tcase has a shorter front drive shaft because of different length of output yoke. It sounds like they have a bad fix for this in that they want you to buy their longer drive shaft for conventional 4x4 and then have it shortened. It would be batter and cheaper to have current drive shaft modified than buy a new on and pay to modify it.
