Cool It Intercooler
Own a turbocharged diesel pickup? If so, think about how hot 500 degrees Fahrenheit is. Believe it or not, that's enough heat to cook a five-pound chicken in 45 minutes. It's also the temperature of the air going into your stock intercooler. During turbocharging, compressed air generates tons of heat, and everyone knows heat is the enemy. That's why BD Power developed the new Cool-It intercooler. With 57 percent more cooling surface area and a 33 percent thicker core, this new unit increases cooling effectiveness to approximately 90 percent, compared to only 70 percent for the stock intercooler. That can mean a temperature reduction of up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit over the stock intercooler. At the same time, the 36 percent larger inlet and discharge tubes can handle up to 90 psi of boost and more than 1,500 cfm, while keeping pressure drop to less than 1 psi. All kits come complete with high-pressure hoses and clamps.
