I have the motor and everything swapped in already. This is my first build and im not to sure about the necessary wiring needed to get this 454 running. I have a vague idea about where the starter wires go to, what about grounding wires. Can i splice into the jeep ignition from the column and run to the starter. Kinda lost here.

What version/year BB (carb, TBI, Vortec) in what year Jeep plays a large roll in what you have to hook up to get it to work. I must confess though that this is not a swap I personally would want to do because you can go too big here.

This is a 1989 Chevy BB with a new E-Brock carb. My YJ is a 1990.

Are you using old style HEI or the ignition that came with engine?

Okay, Jeep uses a external solenoid with a Ford style direct  engagement starter with starter ignition switch wire going to external solenoid. You need to route this wire to GM starter solenoid and remove the battery power feed from solenoid and route it to GM starter. For ignition you need to take ignition feed from switch to power feed for HEI. HEI is basically a simple ignition system with a solid state discharge controller  with a magnetic pickup and has been around since 70's.  It just has a power feed and thats it. No ballast resistor for it in starter circuit.
