OK Folks,
I recently bought a '95 Wrangler. First Jeep I ever owned. Ya'll are the experts so I'm asking for your input. What do I need to do for light and medium trail riding. I'm in NC so I'll be dealing with mud holes, dust, and some rocks but nothing like they have out west. If any of you are from NC you might be familiar with my hang out-Uwharrie National Forest. The Jeep is factory right now. Should I do anything to it? Please help.
Much appreciated

A light to medium duty buildup is fairly simple. Unless you're rich and can build it all at the same time, plan the build in stages. This is how I would do it: 1 - Body armor: rock sliders (NOT nerf bars!) and skid plates, tow hooks, Hi-Lift Jack, basic survival gear. 2 - Lift and tires for clearance. If you change tires size much, you'll also need to change gears. If you change gears, this is a good time to add a rear locker. 3 - Winch time. You've modified enough other parts that now you can get good and stuck, so you need recovery equipment to get you out. That really ought to do it for moderate off road useage. Keep in mind that you do not HAVE to change anything. Go out and run a few trails, but never go alone. You want people around who can help you through the rough spots, and recover you if you get stuck. See what you can do now, and that will help you figure out what modifications you want to make.
