hey everyone,
my name is brendan i am 17 years old and im at the moment i am in san angelo texas on AFB goodfellow for my department of defense fire fighter training to become a arm firefighter. while i have been down here for the past 4 months ive notice that the streets were filled with quite different vehicles then i am use to back home in boston. instead of little imports and luxury cars its old pick ups and suvs all jacked up. while i was down here i bout a 1991 lexus ls 400 back home and later relized that i want to make a off road truck. so im making this post for some suggestions of what i should look for in a truck to start out with and where and what parts i should get first. thanks for the help.

You need to first decide what it is you want to build. Are you building a mall crawler, or a trail rig? What sort of trails? Mud bogs or rocks? Tight, or with room for a full size? How difficult?
If you're building a mall crawler, then it's easy. Buy whatever body style you like most. Stick a big lift on it, some tall tires, and throw chrome all over everything.
If you want to build a trail rig, then it's a bit more complicated....

Yup, the biggest question is what are you building the rig for, figure that out and we can point you in the right direction!
