HI iam still thinking about my 4x4 tranny the front seal went out. the more i read i think the tcc is bad. i cleaned the battery cables so i cleared the codes but my question is can i disconect the wire that goes to the tcc i went to the gm dealer and got the wireing diagram so i know what wire it is. i know it will be a little harder on gas but its alot cheaper than a new tranny and i want this truck to be dependle its a 93 chevy 4x4 1500 with a 4l60 thanks for the help ill keep you posted thanks     gransportw

I think you are going about this wrong, the TCC LOWERS converter fluid temps and your seal likely failed for high temps. Typically this happens with tall gears and big tires and tranny has to "ride the converter longer which slow bakes tranny and disconnecting TCC is going to make matters even worse. The TCC is one of the best things there ever did to any automatic and tall gears with big tires is about one of the worst things you can do to a automatic like a 4L60.

HI when i first got my truck the guy said the front seal leaked so i went to a transmission shop and asked them what the chances of the seal going out just from use. the truck has 219,000 miles with a snowplow the tires are normal 16in tires the rear end is normal too. the tranny guy said maybe but probably my lock up torq. is sliping so instead of just changing the seal or the tcc and have it happen again i would like to disconnect the tcc and change the seal and be done with it  thanks for the input  gransportw

You are missing the point here. It is a miracle that the tranny is still working after that amount of duty and you are not preventing a thing disconnecting TCC. You are only going to hasten trannies demise. OD is .70 which means you will be riding stall a lot in OD. If you plan to still disable TCC, stop using OD too and only use drive.
