The 4L60 is electronically controlled and the 700R4 is not. Also the two trannies also basically share same case so not sure why you are having bolt in issue other than the 93 has a different Tcase than 84 so it likely has a different output flange on them. You really should look for another 4L60 as if the 700R4 from 84 has never been rebuilt it is not the best choose to use because you want at least a 85 or newer one or one that has been updated. Then there will be computer service light when 700R4 is used in place of 4L60. If you really want to use 700R4 look into changing tail shaft housing and shaft to match needs of 93. Being that the 700R4 was used until 92 in the new style pickup it should not be hard to find these 700R4 parts.

The adapter would different because because the 93 uses a different Tcase setup. No sure what you think you gained with a THM350 swap in place of the 700R4. Nothing wrong with a later model 700R4 and it is a better tranny than a THM350 ever was (not that is was a bad tranny either) People than have trouble with 700R4 and 4L60 usually slow bake them with big tires and tall gears and them blame tranny when things go wrong. Sorry if I sound harsh but I can understand going from a 3 speed to a 4sp auto with OD and a locking converter but I cannot understand the reverse as you loose more than just OD (which makes running deep axle gears even easier) as you also loose a much deeper first gear as the THM 350 has a 2.52 vs 3.06 in 700R4

I agree with snoman I don't know why you would want to go from a 4 speed od to a 3 speed I have a 91 with a THM350 in it and i hate my cruising rpms are much higher than I like. Also I wouldn't think it should be that hard to find a 4l60 that bolts right in there should be plenty of used ones and if I remember right when I was looking at rebuilt trannys you can buy a reman for 700 to 1000 dollars depending on where you get it. I don't know what your budget is but thats the way I would go or just rebuild the transmission that came out of it. If you have the know how.
