How come we never get smart-a$$ answers like this?:
To get better MPG out of your Sub, simply find a 3-Cyl Geo Metro engine and drive train, swap it in and drive like you have an egg under the gas pedal.
You can do anything you dare to dream.

check the float level, there could even be crap holding the seat valve open.
which edelbrock carb do you have, like a quadrajet or an AFB?
what jets/needles you using if it's not set to rich?

my 86 sub had a 350 w/4bbl Q jet and wasnt getting good mileage either (8-10 mpg or so)so i rebuilt the carb w/new float, needles and everything, works like a charm and my mpg's went to 14-16mpg,(i also did a valve adjustment because some lifters were talking loudly a bit) i got that mpg twice before i sold the rig, now i have a 93 k1500 p-up w/4.3 v6 (dont laugh) and i get 16 mpg w/it.
shouldve kept my sub!

yours is tbi injected so you should be getting better mpg than my 86 a little bit...you might need new injs to put in the tbi unit.
