I am thinking about converting my nissan 4x4 to a Td27T diesel engine.  I have heard of others wanting to do the same but have never heard the outcome. any ideas?

I am also planning to do the same. It would be wise to get an engine perfomance curve for the TD27 and the one for your current engine and compare though. Does anyone out there have access to an e-copy of the TD27 power chart?

I do not know about power curve but the TD27T is rated at about 100 HP at 4000 RPM and bare engine weighs about 430 lbs. At it rated max output speed it would have about 131 ft lbs of torque. I did find a chart on 6-33T Nissan diesel used in IH Scouts for a bit at link below. Might consider this engine.

hi, i have this engine in my YJ. No problem at all. very light engine, "cute power", its not a V8, its a small diesel engine....
I changed R&P to 4.88, stock nissan Tcase and transmission.
