I have a 03 Superduty w/ V10.  Has anyone heard one with a good deep exhaust sound. Any suggestions?

Hello I have the Dyno max exaust on my 03 v-10 with stainless headers and it sounds real deep tone, My Friend has a 01 v-10 with flowmaster exuast on it and it sounds the same as stock and he is running the 40 series that is sopposed to be aggressive? But he iss not running Headers. Hope this helps.

It is hard to get a good sound out of a V10 ford. Proceed with caution because if you are going for a loud sound, you may not like what you find as most of them sound kinda funky and never come closer to the V8 sound you may want. I would suggest a large single in dual out muffler and a compromise between increased flow and good sound.

My friend has an 01 V10 with a Magnaflow exhaust and stock manifolds, I think it sounds pretty good. Not too obnoxious, just a  nice clean note.

I am sure it is a dead giveaway that it is a Ford V10 too. It has to do with porting in heads, cam timing and exhaust manifolds and such. The Dodge V10 was a uneven fire V10 and generally did a lot better sound wise.

Have you seen any response in MPG with higher flow muffler?

Oh yea for sure. It sounds good, but it is still the distinctive Ford V10 sound... lol

My friend did see a gain of about 3mpg average with the new exhaust and an intake. But I mean, the truck still gets like 11mpg on the highway downhill with a tail wind soo....

I put a DynoMax catback kit on my '99 F250 V10 a couple of weeks ago. Its louder but not close to what i was hoping for. Sounds more like a viper. Won't ever sound like the V8s out there. I'm thinking about going to a high flow cat or removing it and possibly getting new headers. Definately getting the y pipe upgrade from SPD Performance.

Sure it will never sound like a V8 but Ford V10 kinda sounds more like a outboard motor than a truck engine with loud dual exhausts and I would not "advertise" what engine I had like that myself.

Actually I think they have a sound that is kind of near a v6 sound.  I have a set of Bank headers into a single pipe MagnaFlow 40 on my not so little lady.  Not that loud, just the way i like it, a low grumble and sounds great - real pleased with it.  btw My rig is 99 F250 w/146000mi, 6" lift, Warn grill guard and lockers, 5th/gooseneck ready, 4:30 gears and lots of other goodies.
