I don't know why any one would want to own a Kia Junkage.

Kia is one of the worst vehicle makers ever.

There's nothing wrong with a Chevy S-10. I bought an 84' used one in 1990 and owned it for 11 years with very, very few problems. I beat the crap out of it and the original drive train never let me down. With over 250,000 miles on the odometer it still ran great.

It was one of the best vehicles that I have ever owned.

Call it what you want but they are better built than any small 4x4 built here except oa CJ or wrangler maybe and old Cherokees too.

I've never actually researched the front drive axle on the Kia Sportage, but find it very hard to believe that it has a live axle (Solid Axle?) in the front end.

I'd own a (Yuppie Jeep YJ) before I'd ever own a Kia Junkage!!!

I think Snoman may have smoked some wackey weed when he posted his previus message or maybe he has taken some mind altering drug.

If the Kia Junkage is so good, why don't you sell your old Jeep J20 and buy one?

I've never to this day ever see any used ones for sale at a dealers lot, much less see one on the road!!!!

This is because they are pieces of crap and are all sitting in the junkyard or better yet being crushed to make better things out of metal or plastic.

Never said a Kia was better than a YJ (though CJ's were the best of these) but a Kia is way above a S10 Blazer as a S10 is basically a car with 4x4.

WHATEVER, If Kia's are so good, then why don't I ever see one on the road?? I see plenty of 80's S-10's on the road in my state of MD.

They may be rusty, but they are very trusty!!

Could it be because Chevy has been around a lot longer than Kia? When you build a car oversea to compete here, you have to build it better because you are entering a new market, GM can turn out crap and people still buy it.

No! Some riceburners (may?) be better built than the American stuff these days (cars)because everything has imported parts in them but definately not the Kia. I see way more in the junkyard than on the road.

I wouldn't buy anything new nowadays, this includes a Chevy, but the old, old Chevy's I'd take anyday over anything else. (60's & 70's)

You are not looking very hard because it is quite the opposite. Kia is not enslaved with high wages and benifits that causes them to cut a lot of corners and rush them off the line so they can take the time to build them better too. BTW, I am not a KIA lover but they make a respecatble product.

I got to test the new Kia Sportage on this years Four Wheeler of the Year and let me tell you, it is not the hunk of crap I thought it was going to be!

Now I would never  buy one, especialy at 30g's, but it wasn't all THAT bad. It is not Wrangler or H3, but for a small 4wd car-based vehicle it works.

Now my own best small 4x4. Ford Ranger. I know its a truck, but it's a mini truck still. Put a camper shell on it and you will think it is a small SUV... lol

The slickest small 4x4 SUV I have ever driven and owned is a Subaru. They are not trucks for sure and have limited clearance nut the handle great and soak up bumps like no other thing like it and if you get a turbocharged model is is the fastest stock 4x4 SUV you can buy and it would shame a lot of performance cars too.  Stock it will run 13 sec quarter miles.
